Session FIVE | The Heart of the Small Group Leader

This “vodcast” is from a class Tim and Brian did this past summer “Small Group 101”  While it was originally recorded to accommodate my absence in the case of our fourth child’s arrival (which in fact it did)–the content in this short video is the cornerstone to everything you will do in facilitating your small group.

Below are the verses I reference in the video when I mention “your handout:”

Remain in me, and I will remain in you.  For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful apart from me.”-John 5.4 NLT-

Here is what I want you to do; Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God.  Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.” -Matthew 6.6 MSG-

Session THREE | Choosing and Preparing a Group Study

In the following “vodcast” (originally recorded for a Small Group 101 Class for new leaders in the case of Brian’s absence due to the birth of their fourth kiddo).

Here you’ll hear a brief description of what your first study, “Devoted Together” will look like.  From there you’ll get counsel on various types of studies you can choose from for your group.  (For an additional quick list of potential studies, click here an blog post we did of potential studies)

“Now that you have the ‘curriculum in hand,’ what do I do with it?  How do I best prepare to facilitate this study prior to people showing up?”  The following video will walk you through preparing a small group study, step by step.

Hello new small group leader!
