Grow Together Weekly Update Nov. 9, 2015

Hello Fabulous Grow Together Leaders, welcome to the “Grow Together Leadership” blog.   If you’ve been leading for a while, you may be familiar with this site.  Pastor Brian and Pastor Tim have contributed to this site many times over the last several years with thoughts and guidance about Grow Together groups.  If you ever get a chance, please check out their thoughts.

The remainder of this post is important thoughts for your groups/classes right now.

The people behind Room for Doubt would love your feedback.  Click here to tell them about your experience. Your thoughtful feedback is very important in identifying specific areas of needed improvement. Based on your input, they will revise the materials for other churches and Christian ministries.

URAIMOV’S WOULD LOVE TO VISIT YOUR GROUP

Uraimov-familyRavshan and Lisa Uraimov are missionaries to Central Asia with the ministry of Athletes in Action.  I had the opportunity to connect with them last week and hear a bit of their story, and it was amazing.  They would love to come visit your class or small group in the next few weeks to share their story.  I would highly recommend this.  If you would be interested in having them come, please email them at ravshanlisa@yahoo.com

MEETING UP

A_small_cup_of_coffeeOne of my goals in the coming months is to have the opportunity to connect with each of you over a cup of coffee or lunch or dinner.  You each give so much to lead, shepherd, and guide people within our congregation, and I would love to get to know you better and hear about what God is doing in your group/class.  I promise I won’t be interrogating or grading you. 🙂  If you could email me back at jgrunden@firstdecatur.org with some times that work for you I would greatly appreciate it.

JANUARY SERIES

prayer

As I mentioned last week, we will be creating resources for our groups and classes to join (as we did with Room for Doubt) with the series we will be working through as a church in January.  This series is a 5 week series on the way we pray about our family life, health, direction, spirituality, and finances.  The series starts January 9/10.

HOW’S YOUR GROUP GOING

I would love to hear a little how your group is going.  Please complete the quick survey below to let me know. If the survey doesn’t show up, please click here

GROUP STUDIES

Now that most groups are done with the Room for Doubt series, I would love to help you find the best study for your group.  Please keep in mind that we would love for you all to join us during the January Series.  As you pick a new study, please think through how it will fit around the holidays and the January series.  My small group jumped into the Crazy Love study last week and we are just planning to take a break from it in January, and jump back in once the January study is over.

Please email me at jgrunden@firstdecatur.org if you would like help finding a new study for your group.

If you would rather explore a couple on your own, here are 3 great studies.  If they interest you, please let me know.  I can get you the DVD’s and Leader Guides.

Thank you and have a great week!
