GROW TOGETHER EARLY JULY UPDATE

Hey all, I hope June was an excellent month for you.  It’s hard to believe July is here already.  Now that we are nearing the middle of summer, I wanted to give you a few updates

Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 9am-2pm

One of my dreams for this coming year is to see Grow Together groups and classes volunteering together.  Jumpstart would be a a great way for you, your family, your group, or your class to serve together.

If you are unfamiliar with JumpStart, it is a free Back-to-School medical clinic open to all students in our community. We provide free school physicals, dental exams, and other screenings.  If you are a medical professional or not, there are opportunities to serve.  Please check out more here: http://www.firstdecatur.org/jumpstart/

ENCOURAGEMENT FOR YOU TODAY

Summer can be a difficult time for groups and classes.  As many of us take a break from our normal routines, it is easy to start to wonder if it’s really worth continuing to pursue doing life together with the people God has placed in our care.  The truth is community requires a lot of us (time, energy, care, etc.), but it also is worthwhile, and not only that, it is the way we were designed to live.

I found this video on Rightnow Media that communicates well the reason we continue to pursue community in our lives, and I wanted to share it with you. You can find it here: https://www.rightnow.org/Training/Post/View/9278

If you don’t already have a rightnow media account, you can create one here: https://www.rightnow.org/Account/Invite/firstdecatur

Thank you again for taking the time to read this.  As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me at jgrunden@firstdecatur.org  Have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you, JG
